Skyland Trail is a nationally recognized primary psychiatric treatment organization providing mental health treatment for adults ages 18 and older. We offer expert, evidence-based psychiatric care and a holistic approach to wellness.

Our continuum of care includes:
Residential Treatment
Day Treatment (partial hospitalization)
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Independence Coaching (case management)

Many clients begin in our residential treatment program and step down to day treatment as their symptoms and skills improve. Clients also may admit directly to day treatment, which offers intensive outpatient as a step down. Our average length of stay is 3-4 months.

Outpatient programs include:
Comprehensive Psychiatric Assessment
Outpatient DBT Therapy
Outpatient DBT Skills Groups
Primary Care Clinic
Vocational Services
LEAP Social Enrichment Program

Evidence-based Care:

Treatment begins with a thorough psychiatric and psychosocial assessment. Clients are then matched to a treatment team and peer community based on their diagnoses and treatment goals. These groups are called “recovery communities:”

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – treats depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – treats borderline personality disorder, impulsive behaviors, and emotion dysregulation
Dual Diagnosis – treats co-occurring alcohol or substance use
Cognition and First Episode – treats young adults with thought disorders
Social Integration – treats older adults with thought disorders or chronic psychosis

Admissions:

Most clients use some combination of private pay and insurance benefits to cover the costs of treatment. Medicare and Medicaid do not cover our services at any level of care. Families demonstrating financial need may apply for financial aid to cover a portion of treatment costs.

Clients are admitted voluntarily on referral from a mental health professional or organization. We also welcome self and family referrals. For more information please visit our website at https://www.skylandtrail.org/or call our Admissions Team today at 866-528-9593.
